About Us

Soak - See - Scatter - Serve

St Stephens is located in Sneinton just a short walking distance from the city centre. We celebrate a growing anglo-catholic congregation alongside a contemporary intercultural worshipping community. As a church we would like to see a Soaking of the Spirit amongst one another through prayer and worship. We also want to be attentive to Seeing where God is at work among our community and follow His vision for Sneinton. As such we believe in the Scattering or proclamation of the good news of Christ amongst those we love or come into contact with in order to bless and build relationships with those around us. Finally, we wish to Serve. We have a desire to serve God and to serve the people of Sneinton so that many may know Jesus and be impacted by His love.

Prayer

“Pray without ceasing” 1 Thessalonians 5

Prayer

Daily we join in with many others across our city and world to pray the Lord's Prayer - perhaps set a reminder on your phone for midday each day! Every day we encourage you to begin the day with a psalm to praise God for who He is and lift our eyes to Him.  We also pray: That through the life of St Stephen's, people in the parish will hear the good news of God's love for them and that they will know Jesus. If you need further resources on how to pray at home please get in contact and we would love to chat further about this! We particularly recommend you sign up for the daily bell which provides daily scripture and prayer prompts. More details from mike@urbanabbey.co.uk

Also, city prayer which meets monthly in different locations to pray with many others in the church in Nottingham! https://www.nottinghamcityprayer.com/
